Our Program

Let's get to work!

Once a space for a garden has been chosen, we will go there once a week for three weeks. Each day, we will cover a new aspect of climate change with students interested as well as a new aspect of gardening. By the end of the three weeks, we leave behind a ready-to-flourish garden and students passionate about saving the planet. Check out the links below to view what our educational program looks like.

About The Founders

Our Background

One day in late March of 2018, four high school students were making posters together after school for a March for Our Lives rally. While we made these posters, sitting together by chance, we got to talking about activism, and we discovered we all shared an intense passion for the issue of climate change. We spent the rest of the session discussing climate change and what we could do to prevent it. Brought together by a passion for our planet, we decided we needed to do whatever we could to make a difference, no matter how small. After a few brainstorming sessions, we came up with Global Gardens: we would go to local areas vital to our Baltimore community, help them build their own community garden, and teach the students utilizing the spaces about the role they play in preventing climate change. After all, when it comes to solving this problem, it begins with the youth. We are Jerome Hamilton, Stephanie Fishkin, Madeline Jaffe, and Juni Polansky. We are rising seniors at a high school in Baltimore, Maryland. Most importantly, we are Global Gardens.
